3.SEARCHING FOR ALASKA-JUNE 23

IF IT'S WEDNESDAY, it must be SKAGWAY!!
view from the coach

we were up early again and hopped on a coach to take us up over the pass and into the yukon.  it 's a cloudy rainy day.  every once and awhile we would get a glimpse of a mountain top.  we partly followed the trail used by the miners going to the yukon for GOLD!  WE had a lunch stop for tourists and then got back on the coach and went alittle further to emerald lake.

the place we stopped to eat had a mini museum of animals-DALL SHEEP

we headede back to the US border to catch our  narrow gage train to the ship back in skagway.
the train ride down was very enjoyable.  it was totally different than the bus ride up.  and from the train there were more photo opportunies

we are at the top of the pass i believe and you can see the low clouds.  at times we could see the road that we traveled on, but the view from the train was very different.

OOPS!the offical border between canada and US.  the flags from the left are-usa, alaska, ?international border  ,yukon, canadian.

dead horse canyon-so named because of all the dead horses from the miners on the way to the yukon for gold.

we are up high!! AND GOING AROUND A CURVE SO I CAN SEE THE FRONT AND SOMETIMES THE BACK OF THE TRAIN

picking up hikers.  buses and trains are allowed to pick people up along the way.
I guess that they don't want to leave people stranded in the wilderness.

one of the 3 ships is our princess out in skagway bay.plant called goats beard

back in skagway we walked about and then caught the shuttle back to the ship.
